Fargo's affordable and versatile HDP5000 Dual-Sided ID card printer/encoder features high definition printing, capable of creating fresh, glossy ID photos of a superior print quality in a variety of plastic ID cards, even those with embedded electronics!
In dye-sublimation printing technology ribbons and PVC cards come in direct contact with the printhead potentially causing damage to the printhead itself as well as to the cards running through the printer, but with high-definition printing no direct contact is made with printheads because images are printed instead on an HDP film that is fused to the card surface, rather than printed directly onto the card. HDP films provide an additional benefit of adding durability and protection to your ID cards, acting as a 'buffer' from everyday wear and tear and protecting from counterfeit attempts at peeling apart card layers. With ID cards printed on the HDP5000 card images that are tampered with will be completely destroyed.
The versatile modular design of the HDP5000 printer changes with your needs, and can easily be upgraded to handle encoding technologies, and single-sided or simultaneous duplex lamination. With built-in Ethernet, internal print server as well as USB connectivity you have the option to operate the HDP5000 safely over a secure network.
The simple operation of the HDP5000 requires only minimal training because cards, printer ribbons and overlaminates come in cartridges that load in a snap, eliminating torn, wasted materials and Fargo includes a new cleaning roller with each ribbon purchase, making it easy to replace the roller each time you load a new ribbon!
